I use Ubuntu home on my Acer Aspire 5020 and on my netbook – Acer Aspire One. I am a Ubuntu/Linux novice that dont know anything about using terminal and different commands in Linux. So I want to share my everyday thoughts and experiences of using Ubuntu and other Open Source Softwares here on my blogg. I’ll probably write about other stuff as well…

Softwares I couldnt live without:

• Firefox – Webbrowser
• Thunderbird+Lightning – Email and Calender
• Pidgin – Instant Messanger
• Gimp – Picture/image editor
• Virtual Box – Virtualisation software
• Picasa – I like this google picture organiser & publisher
• Spotify – This awesome music streaming software that everyone likeing music should have! Make sure to get an account!
• Skype – Like and disslike, but I use it to keep in touch with friends and relatives living in the “wrong” places
• OpenOffice – The only office suite I know how to use now…
• Kaffeine – Streaming TV and more media features
• VLC – Multimedia
• Dropbox – “Cloud harddisk space” that is synced between computers, work excellent in Ubuntu/Linux
• KeepassX – Cross platform password safe
• Prism – Make webservices into desktop apps

In Swedish

Som marknadsförare på Open Source företaget op5 och tidigare projektledare för bla Linux Open Source konferensen så har jag som icke tekniker fått upp ögonen för öppen källkod och allt som hör därtill. Bloggen kommer bla att fokuser på just open source program som jag använder både privat och i jobbet som marknadsförare. Eftersom jag inte är en tekniker eller utvecklare så blir perspektivet det utifrån en mer vanlig användare.
